With the perfect mix of physical education teachers, coaching professionals and collegiate athletes, Playground Athletes players will develop a love for sports through our confidence building curriculum.

What we do

Sports, whether team-based or individual, are a great activity for children. They provide a variety of benefits other than physical activity. Participation in sports can help build self-esteem and confidence, can motivate children to excel academically, and can help build social skills. Participation also can teach children the benefits of goal-setting and practice.

OUR MISSION is to teach the importance of teamwork, skills and sportsmanship and to provide a safe, nurturing and fun environment for all children regardless of skill level. In fulfillment of this mission, the program seeks to provide the highest level of qualified program leaders who are trained to plan and conduct children's sports programs.

I wasn’t sure how my pre-k gal would like it, and only two sessions in, she’s excited for her third! She absolutely loves it and of course, Coach Zach!! This is now another thing for her to look forward to on the weekends. She tells me about the tires, and soccer (so far). I highly recommend Playground Athletes. The owner, Ryan is also so personable and kind.

Ryan, Sean and team are the absolute best! Whether it’s running a class or a birthday party, they make sure that the kids are having a blast! The Playground Athletes coaches are great at teaching kids of all ages, gender and skill level. Every child feels special and is well taken care of!

We can’t say enough amazing things about Ryan Hassel and The Playground Athletes. From the very beginning—especially during the tough days of COVID—they brought so much joy, energy, and positivity to our family. Ryan went above and beyond to organize incredible parties, outdoor gatherings, and small group activities that kept our kids active, connected, and smiling.

What really sets them apart is the atmosphere they create—fun, inclusive, and team-focused. The coaches they bring in are phenomenal role models and really know how to engage with kids. Whether it was a birthday party or a team bonding day, Ryan always made sure the experience was meaningful and memorable.

Our recent team meet & greet was just another example of how The Playground Athletes help kids build real connections—through games, ice breakers, and laughter. We’re so grateful for everything they’ve done for our family and our teams over the years!

My 5-year-old and 2-year-old sons have been attending PGA programs for the past few years, and they absolutely love it! The Pre-K Multi-Sports class gave my older son a fun introduction to all sports, and now he enjoys Basketball and soccer while developing real skills. The 2’s drop-off class helps my younger son gain independence, social skills, and early sports exposure. Sean, Ryan and all coaches are incredible—patient, encouraging, and truly get to know each child. PGA offers a wide variety of classes in a safe, happy environment that’s perfect for young kids to learn and have fun. We all look forward to every class and highly recommend PGA!
